In a recent opinion poll conducted by InfoTrak, the performance of President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been graded as a disappointing ‘D’. The survey, which took place between May 23 and May 29, involving 1,700 respondents, has shed light on the public’s perception of the leaders’ performance thus far.
The poll results revealed that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki emerged as the best-performing officer, earning a respectable grade B (60), closely followed by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba with a score of 51. Interestingly, three Cabinet Secretaries – Soipan Tuya (Forestry), Aden Duale (Defence), and Eliud Owalo (ICT) – tied with a score of 48.
However, not all Cabinet Secretaries fared well in the evaluation. Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi found himself at the bottom of the rankings, receiving a dismal grade E (39), while Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir also received a low score.
Johvine Wanyingo, the lead researcher at InfoTrak, revealed that the cumulative grade for the cabinet’s performance was a ‘D’. Additionally, the survey results indicated that Parliament, the Judiciary, and the opposition parties also scored a ‘D’ in their respective performance evaluations.
