While 25 workers were able to flee the scene, the attackers fatally shot five individuals and left two others with serious injuries. The victims were reportedly unable to escape the immediate threat. Mandera County Commissioner Henry Ochako confirmed the incident, which has sparked a renewed focus on security in the region.
